Information for the AMS Airport Operator
In the live service, this button will open a secure airport-operator information screen.
The AMS operator will be able to authenticate, review and claim its matching .airport domain package, and contact the registry or its verification and distribution partner directly.
Enterprise within .airport
In the live service, the Enterprise logo will open a dedicated partner page within .airport.
The page will present Enterprise’s role as a Principal Founding Partner and the Founding Rental Car Partner of .airport, and connect passengers directly with Enterprise’s airport rental network and relevant booking services.
This recognition will appear across registry-operated airport gateway pages while those pages remain under .airport operation. Each gateway exists until the corresponding airport claims and activates its .airport domains.
Enterprise across the .airport network
For approximately 4,000 commercial passenger airports globally, together with selected major general aviation airports, .airport will register the relevant airport identifiers as domain names.
For Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, these include:
www.ams.airport
www.schiphol.airport
www.amsterdam.airport
Until claimed by the respective airport, each domain will initially lead to a page like the example below, linking directly to the airport’s official website and key passenger information.
Below is an example of how a mini-page at www.AMS.airport will appear to users. Try it out, click the links, the mock-up page works exactly like the future system.
How .airport Reaches Passengers
As a Principal Founding Partner and the Founding Rental Car Partner of .airport, Enterprise will be presented prominently across this network of roughly 15,000 airport domain names.
.airport will, for the first time, map IATA airport codes directly to the corresponding official airport websites and passenger information. A passenger using www.ams.airport, for example, will immediately reach the official digital presence of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Following launch, .airport will work with IATA, SITA, airlines, online travel agencies and other aviation-system participants to integrate these short airport domains into booking confirmations, itineraries, PNR communications, boarding passes and other points throughout the passenger journey.
This will make the domains visible where passengers already encounter airport codes, creating a direct route to official airport information while presenting Enterprise at the point where onward travel and rental-car decisions are made.
